Our ApproachCognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a down-to-earth way of addressing stress, anxiety, low mood, panic and other problems. CBT helps you to retrain your thoughts so that you feel and behave differently. It helps you to develop coping strategies to control difficult emotions and difficult situations.CBT usually takes place in one-to-one sessions with a specially trained therapist. The structured sessions last 50 or 60 minutes and are usually weekly, continuing for between three and six months. A CBT therapist will help you identify unhelpful thinking patterns which cause emotional problems, then show you how to challenge and change these thoughts so that you feel better and do things differently. Once you’ve learned these skills, you can use them whenever you need to. CBT works – there is a wealth of research evidence that proves that CBT techniques are really effective. MindExpert products are based on CBT, helping you to develop skills to control how you feel. |
